Launch

This is the inaugural post in this new blog, "El Blogero." The first order of business is to thank Mrs. Blogero for helping me come up with the blog name and then launching this site.

I intend to have this site serve several purposes. One purpose is to provide me with an outlet for publishing my opinions and, sometimes, letting off some steam. My views, as will become obvious in my posts, are decidedly conservative. A related purpose will to provide what will hopefully be interesting and timely analysis of issues and current events. These purposes may sometimes take the form of advocacy for a particular position.

Another purpose of El Blogero will be to highlight other sources and materials of interest, such as articles, websites or other blogs. I am sure that we all come across materials that we wish we could share with others in a quick and unobtrusive manner (i.e., without spamming). This type of material is not always worthy of highlighting for positive reasons. Sometimes material will be highlighted because it worthy of criticism. In fact, this type of highlighting will likely be the most fun.

Lastly, the purpose of El Blogero will be to seek and obtain comments, pro and con, from readers. Those comments will at times be published here as well.

El Blogero will strive to do all of the above respectfully and in good humor. There will be no angry rants on this blog from El Blogero, although there may be angry rants by others commenting on this site. We'll see how much fun that can be.

I will try to keep the blog as up-to-date and post as often as possible. The firsts posts should come in January 2005. In the mean time, I wish a safe and Happy New Year to everyone.
